Juanita Paula Gonzalez Maldonado Colon, a longtime resident of the Bronx, died on February 15, 2016. She was 89.

Mrs. Colon was born on August 15, 1926 in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico to the late Antero and Mercedes (Gonzalez) Maldonado. For many years before her retirement she worked as a beautician.

She is survived by her daughters, Lydia Santos and her husband Jesus, Laura Valentin and her husband Carlos, Gladys Figueroa and her husband Charlie, and Maria Theresa Colon; her son, Gregorio Reuben Colon and his wife Addie; her grandchildren, Jesus Santos, Jr., Melissa Texidor, Tyson C. Valentin, Greg Colon, Jose David Figueroa, Jamie Lee Lebron, and Ana Maria Melendez; her great-grandchildren, Krystina Lee Santos, Jesseca Santos, Jesus Santos III, Cristopher Ruiz, Corey Ruiz, Codey Anne Ruiz, Matthew Texidor, Mikaela Valentin, Brandon Colon, Justin Rosa, and Shyniece Charles; her brother, Modesto Gonzalez and his wife Hilda; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Visiting will be Thursday 4-9pm at Joseph A. Lucchese Funeral Home, 726 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday 10:15am at Our Lady of Solace Church, 731 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Interment will follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery.
