Mabel M. Vareha, a lifelong resident of the Bronx, died on May 6, 2014. She was 93.

Mrs. Vareha was born on April 29, 1921 in the Bronx to the late Robert and Mabel (Miller) Schinnerer. She married Thomas Vareha on June 24, 1944. He died on October 24, 1996. For many years she worked as an assistant underwriter for New York Life Insurance Co.

She is survived by her daughter Linda Cebrian and her husband Michael; her son Thomas Vareha, Jr.; her two grandchildren, Michael Cebrian and Lisa Strycharz and her husband Jason; and her nephew John Poyner.

Visiting will be Sunday 5-9pm and Monday 2-4 & 7-9pm, with a funeral service Tuesday 10am, at Joseph A. Lucchese Funeral Home, 726 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Interment will follow at Pinelawn Cemetery.
