Michael L. Merollo, a longtime resident of Stony Point, died on May 29, 2014 after a short battle with cancer. He was 55.

He was born on July 24, 1958 in Queens to the late Joseph and Ida (Orsomarso) Merollo. He was a beloved husband to Maria Merollo (nee Cortes); father to Rita and Alexis; and grandfather to Christina, Alex, Alysia, Javier, and Jianna. Michael was an extremely dedicated and hard working member of the IUOE Local 15 who extended a helping hand with the 9/11 restoration effort. He is remembered for his generous heart and strong passion to always help and do for others and without expecting anything in return.

Visiting will be Sunday 12-5 & 7-9pm at Joseph A. Lucchese Funeral Home, 726 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday 10:15am at Our Lady of Solace Church, 731 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Cremation will be private.
