Salvatore Arturo Fata, a longtime resident of the Bronx, died on October 14, 2014. He was 73.

Mr. Fata was born on May 3, 1941 in Carolei, Cosenza, Italy to the late Luigi and Luisa (Broccoli) Fata. On July 2, 1972 he married Maria Domenica DeMartis. Mr. Fata was a barista and owned and operated the Gran Caffe in the Bronx from 1981 to 1999.

In addition to his wife, Maria Domenica Fata, he is survived by his son Luigi Fata and his wife Victoria; his daughter Gianetta Fata; his grandchildren, Luigi and Sofia Fata; his sisters, Maria Fata and Rita Marsicano; and many loving nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his brother Franco Fata and his sister Caterina Fornaciari.

Visiting will be Thursday & Friday 4-8pm at Joseph A. Lucchese Funeral Home, 726 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 9:45am at St. Clares Church. Cremation will follow at Woodlawn Crematory. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
