It is with the heaviest of hearts that we are gathered here today to honor our beloved child. Sherman Gideon Robinson Jr made his grand entrance into this world on September 6, 2012, at 12:30 a.m. At that moment he captivated hearts and demanded attention, all eyes were on him as he fought to take his first breath. And when he finally did, all in attendance was overjoyed. His mom Sheila, could be heard saying, "That's my boy he's a fighter, a warrior". His parents didn't have a name picked out for him. For this little guy's arrival, was super early. But at that moment and one flip of the Bible, they found it. And affectionately they called him Gideon- (God's warrior) and was adamant everyone who knew him, do the same.

With an uphill battle Gideon fought every second of everyday, and his parents, Great-grandma and grandma were there, fighting with him too. Gideon was a beautiful and amazing child. There was no denying, Gideon's love for the ones he knew so dearly. Gideon would often be seen communicatIng "I love you" with those beautiful fingers of his. And equally important was the love that we had for Mr. Gideon, sir (a nickname given to him by his Great-grandma Liz). Gideon was a happy child, always laughing and smiling. We would often witness Gideon grinning from ear to ear, especially when he heard his mother's voice advocating for him, as she so often did. Gideon may have been small, but he was far from docile. He was a "little guy" but a mighty warrior, often kicking, screaming, fighting and rolling his eyes when things weren't to his liking. Gideon was a handsome, full spirit and extremely energetic child who had a whole lot of personality.

Gideon gave us 3 years 4 months 1 week and 6 days of pure love, smiles happiness, laughter and joy. To hold and kiss Gideon and to watch him grow. To pick him up, rock him to sleep, comfort him when he was bothered. To just be in his presence, to wake-up to his soft cries, and fall asleep to his loud snoring; were the best things imaginable.

Gideon will leave to mourn, but FOREVER keep his memory going on; his devoted parents Sheila and Sherman Sr. His beautiful younger sister Mya. His Great-grandma Liz and grandma Susie. His uncle John and aunts Shirley, Kesha, Elizabeth and Ralstina. And a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

At this time we the family would like to thank everyone, for their prayers and condolences.

Visiting will be Saturday 8am to 12pm- with a service beginning at 12pm- at Joseph A. Lucchese Funeral Home, 726 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Cremation will follow at Woodlawn Crematory.
